Martha Ann Suther

Martha Ann (McQuaid) Suther passed away April 20, 2026 in Mineral Wells. She was born November 11, 1934, in Mountain View, Oklahoma, to James Claude and Alma (Wren) McQuaid.

Martha married James “Jim” E. Suther on July 9, 1955 in Gulf Port, Mississippi. He enjoyed fishing and she was passionate about her music. Martha took great pride in playing the organ at the First Presbyterian Church in Mineral Wells for the past 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Suther; her parents; and her brothers, Glenn McQuaid and Raymond McQuaid.

Survivors include her son, Paul Suther and wife Cheryl; daughter, Marianne Flemmons; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her nieces, Celia Brown Fowler and husband Charles and Jill McQuaid Burwash; and her nephew, James McQuaid and wife Audie.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the First Presbyterian Church.
