Marvine Marie Francies

Marvine Marie Francies went home to be with her Lord and Savior and the love of her life, Joe, on July 1, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on June 18, 1932, in the quaint town of Kress, Texas, Marvine was a woman of remarkable spirit and unwavering devotion, whose presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who knew her.

Marvine was the cherished daughter of Marvin and Mary Morton, who instilled in her the values of faith, resilience, and kindness that would guide her throughout her life. On March 17, 1949, she married the love of her life, Joe B Francies, in Kress, Texas. Together, they shared 70 wonderful years, raising a family of four children in a home that was a testament to their deep Christian faith and unconditional love. Joe predeceased her, leaving behind a legacy of love that Marvine continued to nurture.

Marvine’s life was a tapestry of service and dedication. A gifted kindergarten teacher, she touched the lives of countless children, igniting in them a love for learning. Her role as a church secretary further cemented her commitment to her faith and community. Entrepreneurial in spirit, Marvine also owned a couple of businesses, each endeavor reflecting her integrity and hard work. Her life was marked by service to others, wearing many hats with grace and humility.

A lifetime member of the Church of Christ, Marvine’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a guiding light to her family and a spiritual anchor in her community, influencing everyone she encountered with her warmth and wisdom.

Marvine’s life was rich with hobbies that brought her immense joy. She cherished her time at Possum Kingdom Lake, where she spent countless hours boating and fishing. One memorable day, while fishing for crappie, she caught two large bass weighing 9 and 10 lbs, respectively, which she lovingly released back into the lake. Her hands were always busy creating; she crocheted many blankets over the years, the last of which was lovingly crafted for her youngest great-great-grandson at the age of 93. Her love for quilting and crafting was surpassed only by her love for her family, with whom she enjoyed playing games, whether around the table or on her tablet.

Marvine leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by her devoted children: Connie Mosley, Bonnie Anderson, Teresa Varner, and Wiley Francies with his wife Jan. She was a proud grandmother to eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Her extended family includes numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends, each of whom she held dear. Though predeceased by her parents, husband Joe Francies, grandson Joshua Francies, and sons-in-law Rusty Mosley, James Anderson, and David Varner, Marvine’s spirit and love continue to shine brightly through her family.

A service celebrating Marvine’s remarkable life will be held on July 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Graford Church of Christ, located on Highway 254, Graford, Texas 76449. Interment to follow at Graford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Foster’s Home for Children, an organization close to Marvine’s heart, located at 1779 N Graham St, Stephenville, Texas 76401.

Marvine Francies lived a life filled with love, grace, and service. Her legacy is the boundless love she shared and the profound impact she had on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
