Mary Dell Snell Clayton

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Dell Snell Clayton, who departed this world peacefully on May 25, 2026, at the age of 77. Born in the warm embrace of Weatherford, Texas, on June 9, 1948, Mary was a beacon of love and strength to all who knew her. Dell was the cherished daughter of Jesse and Mary Patterson Austin, whose guiding hands and nurturing souls shaped her into the incredible woman she became.

Dell was lovingly predeceased by her beloved husband, Billy Curtis Snell, with whom she shared a beautiful journey of love and family; her son, Billy Jason Snell; her brothers, Gilbert and Gene Austin; and her sisters, Joyce, Augusta “Sissy” and Ruth.

Dell’s life was a testament to devotion and steadfast faith. As a dedicated member of Beulah Baptist Church, she found solace and community within its walls, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her unwavering faith and commitment to her church family were inspiring to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her devoted children: daughters Paula Clift and husband Chuck, and Renee Pruitt and husband Dale; sons Curtis Snell and wife Tia, and Lonnie Snell. Dell was also the beloved sister of Patsy Frazier and husband Jimmy, and Earlene Ruland. Her life was further enriched by her 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, many extended family members, including numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones, who each held a special place in her heart and will forever carry her spirit with them.

Dell’s life will be celebrated at Beulah Baptist Church, located at 350 Beulah Rd, Millsap, TX 76066, where a service in her honor will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 2:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather and remember a life so beautifully lived, as we share stories and memories of Dell’s remarkable journey. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home, 302 West Hubbard St., Mineral Wells, TX 76067, where we will gather to offer our condolences and support to the family.
