Mary Jeanette McKennon

 Mary Jeanette (Bandy) McKennon went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 25, 2024. She was born June 6, 1939 in Lone Camp, Texas to Edgar and Thelma Bandy. She was raised in Lone Camp and attended Lone Camp until moving to Santo School. Jeanette went on to further her education at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas where she obtained her master’s degree in speech pathology. It was there she met the love of her life Pat.

 They briefly resided in Sweetwater, Texas where they welcomed two sons, Scott and Cole. Soon after they moved to Mineral Wells and established their permanent home. Jeanette loved this community, and the community loved her. She had a profound impact on so many children here and influenced many to enter the field of speech pathology. To so many people, she was also known as “The Egg Lady”. Her artistic ability surpassed all others.

 She dedicated over 30 years to the Mineral Wells school system and after retirement she co-founded Countryside Group Therapy into a successful and thriving business. Jeanette was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and was a faithful woman of God. 

 Jeanette is survived by Pat, her husband of 65 years; her son Scott and wife Tammy, son Cole and wife Bonnie; grandchildren Abi, Aaron, Alyssa, Cole, Autumn, Anderson, Claire, Kaleb; and great grandson Everett.

 Jeanette has made an unforgettable impact on her family, friends and community. She will forever be missed.

 There will be a visitation on June 28, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at the Southside Church of Christ at 2:00pm Saturday, June 29, 2024 with internment at New Hope Cemetery.
