Michael Keith Goen

Michael Keith Goen, 21, passed away April 23, 2023 after a short battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). He was born February 19, 2002, in Weatherford, the son of Michael Craig and Dena Renee Gann Goen. Michael graduated from Graford High School class of 2021. He enjoyed fishing, playing basketball and baseball but he excelled in FFA. He won Reserve and Grand Champion rabbit at the Graford FFA Stockshow and earned his Lone Star Degree. Michael was a member of Countryside Baptist Church where he enjoyed helping with VBS and the church BBQ. He worked at AJ Assembly until his early stages of ALS prevented him from working.

Survivors include his parents, Craig and Dena Goen; brother, Matthew Goen; grandparents, Roy and Sandi Gann, Kay Stowe, Curtis and Wenda Goen; aunts, Carrie Henry and husband Bryan and Terrie Chriestenson and husband Robert; cousins, Payton Goen, Nathaniel Henry, Brazos Henry, Remmie Henry, Kassie Chriestensen, and Kendal Chriestenson; numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Chris Goen.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the First Baptist Church with interment following at Salesville Cemetery.
