Monty Stephen Langford

October 7, 1966 — June 23, 2023

Monty Stephen Langford passed away on June 23, 2023, at his home in Mineral Wells, Texas. Monty was born on October 7, 1966, in Pampa, Texas. He was raised in Perryton, Texas and graduated from Perryton High School in 1985, where he played football, basketball and ran track for the Perryton Rangers. Monty attended Texas Tech University where he also played football for two years.

Monty married Adi Cluck in 1997 and had three beautiful children, Pike, Luke and Lily. They started their family in Amarillo where he owned an auto repair shop. They moved to Perryton and then Brock, Texas where he worked in the oil field. Monty and Adi moved to Mineral Wells in 2021 where they attended Highridge Church. He worked for Graford ISD until the week God took him home.

Monty’s joy and devotion was as a husband to Adi and father to his three children. His immediate and extended families were priorities in his life. He enjoyed time fishing and hunting, especially at the family’s cabin in Lake City, Colorado. Monty never missed a family reunion in Graham, Texas. He was a Christ follower. He loved his morning quiet time with coffee and his Bible. He enjoyed golfing, music, playing games with his family and dancing with his wife - occasionally his sister too. He loved to be outdoors and took in all that God had to offer through nature. There was never a person who loved to get in the car and hit the road more than Monty. He was content alone or in a room full of people. Monty loved to laugh and was a great story teller. He was a generous, humble and honest man. He was a friend to all who knew him. He had the kindest soul.

Survivors include his wife, Adi Langford of Mineral Wells; his sons, Pike Langford and Luke Langford of Dallas; his daughter, Lily Langford of Franklin, Tennessee; parents Robert and Margaret Langford; brother Chris Langford and wife Lezlie, sister Molly Key and husband Jason, mother and father-in-law, Wayne and Elaine MaGouirk, brothers-in-law Cory Cluck and Shaun MaGouirk and wife Misty.
