Orville "Snake" Garrett

Orville “Snake” Garrett, retired car salesman of over 30 years, passed away March 29, 2023 peacefully at home after a long battle with lung cancer.

Snake was born at Nazareth Hospital in Mineral Wells, TX August 11, 1949 to Arby and Lillian Stephens Garrett. He attended school in Millsap, TX. He married, which led to the birth of his two girls Haley and Brooke. He loved spending time with his girls, their husbands, and his grandchildren. Snake was a devoted father and he always said they were the most important aspect of his life. Snake enjoyed golfing, gambling, and going on cruises. He was a very generous and outgoing man with many friends and family who will mis him terribly. His sense of humor will especially be missed.

Snake is survived by his two daughters, Haley Gilbert and husband Larry of Mineral Wells, TX; Brooke Peterson and husband Justin of Fort Bragg, NC; Sister, Barbara “Bunny” Garrett of Graford, TX; Grandson’s Chance and Baby C of Mineral Wells, TX; long time best friend Ritchie Lester of Mineral Wells, TX; several nieces and nephews, as well as several great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Snake is preceded in death by his mother and father Arby and Lillian Stephens Garrett; brothers: Pete Garrett, Bill Garrett, and Dale Garrett; sisters: Mary Garrett, Faye “Sis” Inmon, Suzy Kelley, Eva Blackwell, and Lois Garland.

We, Haley and Brooke, would like to send a special thank you to Beyond Faith Hospice, Barbara “Bunny” Garrett, Billy Garrett, Ritchie Lester, and Twila Garrett for the great care and support provided to our dad and us through this process.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 6pm-8pm at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. Funeral services at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home 10 AM Saturday. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Millsap, TX. Ritchie Lester, Chester Brogdon, Frank Brogdon, Billy Garrett, Russell Barnett, and Saxton Barnett will be pallbearers.
