Raymond Jaramillo

b. August 19, 1924

Raymond Segobia Jaramillo, 85, of Mineral Wells passed away Friday October 2, 2009 at his residence surrounded by family. Funeral Mass will be 10 AM Wednesday at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Jeff Poirot officiating. Burial will be in the Woodland Park Cemetery. Rosary will be 7 PM Tuesday at the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. The pallbearers will be John and Patrick Jaramillo, Ronny White, Joe Jaramillo, Juanito Saucedo and Damon Jaramillo. Alternate pallbearers are Abram Jaramillo and Shawn McDonald. Mr. Jaramillo was born August 19, 1924 in Cement, Oklahoma. He was working the fields in Colorado as a migrant worker where he met he wife of 56 years, Rebecca Hernandez. The two were joined in marriage on October 22, 1949 in Ft. Morgan, Colorado. They were later married by the Catholic Church on October 24, 1960 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Mr. Jaramillo entered the US Navy December 13, 1943 where he was active as a gunner aboard the USS Lexington when Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese in World War II. He was honorably discharged March 18, 1946. He was very patriotic and loved his flag and country. Mr. and Mrs. Jaramillo re-located to Mineral Wells the summer of 1964 from Dallas, Texas. He gave many years of service to US Brick and the Mineral Wells Independent School District. Survivors include sons, Johnny R. Jaramillo, Patrick Jaramillo and wife Lena, and John Jaramillo and wife Trisha; daughters, Eugenia Havel and husband Richard; grandchildren, Patrick W. Jaramillo, Sylvia Saucedo, Sharon Jaramillo, Jose Jaramillo and wife Lacy, Ronnie White, Anita Jaramillo, Paulene Jaramillo, Jasmine Jaramillo, Damon Jaramillo, Jayden Jaramillo, Ayla Jaramillo; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Jaramillo, Angel Jaramillo, Angel Beruman, Brianna Guerrero, Marty Jr. Beruman, Shawn McDonald, Juanito Saucedo, Abraham Jaramillo, Izaac Velasquez, Jacob Trujillo, Arianna Ramos, Enrique Saucedo, Aria Jaramillo and Ivan Saucedo; brother Silbenio Jaramillo; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca and grandson Jesse Jaramillo. The family would like to give thanks to Integra-Care Hospice for the special care that was given to their father and grandfather.
