Roberto "El Pato" Castellanos Garza

Roberto “El Pato” Castellanos, 83, of Mineral Wells, TX, passed away peacefully at his home on July 24,2026. He was surrounded by the love of his family. Roberto lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a gentle spirit that left an imprint on everyone who knew him.

Born October 19, 1942, in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico to Rodolfo Castellanos and Ninfa Garza, where he grew up with his seven brothers. His childhood in Acuna, Mexico shaped his lifelong appreciation for simple joys—especially time spent outdoors, working with his hands, and sharing stories with family and friends. He moved to Mineral Wells in 1980 where he worked for Texaramic (which later became Ceramitex) until the company shut down. This is where he met a lot of his closest friends.

Known affectionately as “El Pato”, Roberto carried his childhood nickname with pride throughout his life. He was a man of many talents and passions. He found peace in fishing, creativity in woodworking, and excitement in watching boxing, a sport he followed faithfully for decades. Whether building something from scratch or sitting by the water with a fishing pole in hand, Roberto embraced the quiet beauty of a simple life.

Roberto’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his three daughters: Sandra Peterson and husband Nick of Mineral Wells, TX, Perla Davis and husband Jesse of Mineral Wells, TX, and Patty Castellanos of San Angelo, TX. He also leaves behind a large and loving family of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom will carry his memory forward with love and gratitude.

Roberto’s legacy is one of kindness, humility, and unwavering love. He will be remembered for always having a smile, even when his world was upside down. His stories, his laughter, and his craftmanship will live on in the hearts and homes of those he touched.

The family takes comfort in knowing that Roberto is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have passed before him. His memory will forever remain a blessing.

Roberto will be laid to rest at Woodland Park Cemetery in Mineral Wells, TX.
