Rosa Lightsey

Rosa Virginia Stacks Lightsey, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, at the age of 93. She was born on September 15, 1932, in Port Lavaca, Texas, to William David Stacks and Hattie Mae Sturdivant Stacks.

Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Lloyd Lightsey, and her daughters, Wanda Faye Lightsey Kyees and Brenda Lightsey Bodiford.

She is lovingly survived by her grandchildren, William Lloyd Collins Jr. and Estella Leos, Jason Kyees, Matthew Bodiford and wife Lydia Bodiford, and Christi Bodiford. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Jennifer Finzel, Katie Collins, Ashlee Chavez, Savannah Ritter, and Jasmine Bodiford. Rosa was further blessed with great-great-grandchildren, Ronan Cromer, Mason Cromer, Anslee Cromer, and Naomi Finzel.

Nana will be remembered for the love she shared with her family, her strength through the years, and the lasting legacy she leaves behind in the generations of family who loved her dearly. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2026 at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
