Roy Ned Patterson, Sr.

Roy Ned Patterson, Sr. passed away May 28, 2026 in Jacksboro. He was born December 20, 1937, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Levi and Jewel Patterson along with sisters, Maxine, Ramona, and Billie Jean; brothers, Clayton, Wendell, I.L., and Johnny.

Ned graduated from Mineral Wells High School and went on to serve in the National Guard. He was a member and past Commander of the American Legion Post 75, member of the VFW, member and past Captain of the Palo Pinto County Sherrif’s Posse. Ned and Reta spent many years selling fresh fruit and vegetables to the good people of Mineral Wells as owners of Patterson Produce. Upon retirement they spent many years wintering in the Valley of Texas.

Survivors include his daughter, Nancy Watson and husband Lonnie of Bryson; son, Roy Patterson and wife Sue of Mineral Wells; granddaughter, Shayla Bruton and husband Micael of Mineral Wells; great-grandsons, Isaiah Garcia and fiance Jamie Smith and; Gunner Bruton; brother, Johnny Patterson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ned was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Reta Patterson; his granddaughter, Emily Fae Watson; and his sisters and his other brothers.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sturdivant Cemetery.
