Sallie Opal Massie

Sallie Opal Massie, 98, passed away April 18, 2011 in a Weatherford nursing home. She was born January 3, 1913 in Soda Springs the daughter of Ruben and Zelma Clark Ashley. She married John Harley Massie on February 21, 1931 in Mineral Wells. She was a longtime resident of Millsap and a Baptist. She was a former member of the Garden Club of Millsap. Services will be 2 PM Thursday, April 21, 2011 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Millsap. Visitation is Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Billy Ray and Virginia Massie of Millsap, David and Susan Massie of Abilene, daughter: Joan Welborn of Weatherford, 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 12, 1984, son: Kenneth Massie, and all of her brothers and sisters.
