Sally Jean Harmon

November 13, 1940 — February 28, 2022

Sally Jean Harmon (Strickland), age 81, passed away on February 28, 2022 after battling Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Dustin, Oklahoma November 13, 1940 to Bee and Mae (Blankenship) Harmon.

Following a family move to west Texas in the 1950s, Jean graduated from Levelland High School in 1957 at the age of 16. She soon married and moved to Parker County. Here she raised her three children on a farm bordered by the Brazos River. Through the years, her home became an enduring favorite of family and friends. She enjoyed yard work, gardening and canning, fishing with a cane pole, picnics, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and making homemade fried pies. She was a hard worker. She will be remembered for her time at the Millsap School cafeteria, and Blue’s Produce in Mineral Wells. All who knew her will miss her kindness, soft heart, giving nature, sense of humor, and free spirit.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her sister Melba June Morris.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Byron and Carol Strickland of Millsap; daughters and sons-in-law, Jerri and John Aaron of Millsap, and Sandy and Daryl Krause of Dallas; brothers, James Harmon of Rowlett and Joe Harmon and spouse Doug Shea of Dallas; sister, Carol Rhea of Bellaire, Michigan; grandchildren: John, Casey and wife Blair, Julie, and Andrew; great-grandchildren: William and Presleigh; uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces.
