Sandra Lee Gipson Burson went from this world into Heaven on Wednesday, October 2, 2019. She was born May 6, 1944 in Fort Worth, TX, on her great-grandmother's birthday. Her parents were Oran H. and Jessie Lee Atkins Gipson. Sandra started school in Mingus, Tx, in a one room school where there was only one teacher who taught 7 grades. She had a good memory and recited "The Night Before Christmas" at her first grade Christmas program. The family moved to west Texas where they lived till 1955 and the death of her father brought them back to Palo Pinto County where she lived out the rest of her life. Sandra worked for 20 years for Centron Corp. in Quality Control. She later worked for 12 years as Deputy County Clerk in Palo Pinto where she retired in 2006. Sandra and Joe Burson married in 1983 and they were married for 36 years. They spent their retirement years spending their children's inheritance, traveling, and fulfilling her lifelong dream of going to Alaska. She was a member of Mineral Wells Chapter of the Eastern Star. She and Joe served as Worthy Patron and Worthy Matron in Mineral Wells Prudence 44, 1996-1997. Sandra loved to sing Southern Gospel music, read, travel, fish, crochet and cook for her family. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and loved Serving our Lord. Survivors include her husband Joe; sons: Butch Richard and wife Donna of Mineral Wells, Stuart Richard and wife Audrea of Keota, OK; daughters: Rada Grimes and husband Bubba, Janet Fisher and husband Benny all of Mineral Wells; granddaughters: Samantha Richard, Jessica Richard, Jordan Veal, Emmylie Fisher, and Jacey Grimes; grandsons: Levi Richard, Matthew Grimes, Colton Richard, Jacob Richard, Josh Richard, Nick Lancaster; great-grandchildren: Kayden, Raelyn, Jade, Harper, Karsyn, Patrick, Caroline, Audrey, Lexie and Ayden; sister: Maudie Lionberger and husband Jay of Oran; step-father: Richard Vann; sister-in-laws: Karen, Andrea, Bonnie Richard and Betty; numerous nieces, nephews cousins and friends. Sandra is also survived by her fur babies: Frankie, Samson, and Ginger. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ronnie Gipson and Bobby Gipson; and her daughter, Shelby Richard Miles. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church with burial following at Staggs Prairie Cemetery.
