Sheila Ellen McClintock

November 11, 1962 – July 30, 2025

Sheila Ellen McClintock, 62, of Mineral Wells, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025. Born in Richmond, Virginia, Sheila spent most of her life in Texas and proudly considered it home. She loved her state, her faith, and more than anything, her family.

Sheila is survived by her daughter, Amanda McClintock, and Amanda’s partner, Shane Lemons; her grandchildren, Hayden Ford, Ashlynn Ford, and Maverick Lemons; and her brother, Joseph Phillips. She is preceded in death by her parents, Anne Belle and Joseph Phillips; her sisters, Jean and Linda Howell; and her precious grandson, Weston Ford.

Sheila was a woman of deep faith and compassion, known for her servant’s heart and love for others. She loved Jesus and lived her life praying for everyone around her, often keeping handwritten lists of names in her Bible and journals. She found joy in helping others and took great pride in volunteering at her church’s food bank in her younger years, where she spent countless hours cooking for the homeless and showing others the love of Christ through service.

Sheila adored I Love Lucy, often saying the show got her through tough times with laughter. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas and the rare Texas snow. She’d be the first to call and say, “It’s snowing!” and loved driving around with hot chocolate on Christmas Eve to see the lights.

Her favorite flower was the yellow rose of Texas, and one of her favorite songs was Somewhere Over the Rainbow, a song that reflected the hope she held onto through life’s storms, a reminder that something beautiful always waited on the other side, just beyond what we can see.

But her greatest joy by far was her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and her daughter Amanda was the light of her life. She also held a deep and lasting friendship with her dear friend Tina, who remained a steady source of support and love through all of life’s seasons. She also deeply cherished her bond with her brother, Joseph. She spoke of him often and with love and their relationship brought her great comfort, laughter, and a sense of home. She leaves behind her cherished cat, Sweet Tea, who brought her endless comfort, laughter, and love. Sweet Tea wasn’t just a pet, she was Sheila’s heart on four paws. Their bond was something special, and anyone who knew Sheila knew how much she adored that cat.

Sheila’s memory will live on in the love she gave, the faith she shared, and the many people she prayed for. She made others feel seen, special, and cared for, and that is the legacy she leaves behind.

A memorial service to celebrate Sheila’s life will be held Saturday, August 9 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells, Texas. This will be a come-and-go gathering, where friends and loved ones are invited to stop by, share stories, and spend time remembering the special moments and lasting impact Sheila had on everyone who knew her.

Now she is healed, whole, and resting in the arms of Jesus with her grandson Weston, just as she always believed she would be. For those wishing to honor Sheila, flowers are welcome and may be sent to Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, you may also choose to honor her memory by performing a small act of kindness, saying a prayer for someone in need, or giving a donation to local animal shelter or food bank; two things dear to her heart.
