Sherrilyn Elizabeth Friend

March 21, 1948 — November 12, 2022

Sherrilyn Elizabeth Friend was born March 21, 1948 to Saddie Ruth Gray Parker of Philadelphia, MS and Buddy Tucker of Fort Walton Beach, FL. Adopted and raised by Jerry Jerrell and Bettye Thompson Jarrell. Married to Robert Eugene Friend October 16, 1965 and divorced September 12, 1975. All deceased.

Sherri leaves behind a son, James Friend and his wife Michelle of Mineral Wells, TX and a daughter, April Whittington of Florence, MS, four grandsons, Joshua Byrd, Autry Friend, Thomas Whittington, Charlie Friend and one great granddaughter, Lilly Whittington.

Sherri lived a full life and never met a stranger. She could make instant friends, anywhere. A generous love, a kind spirit and full of compassion are the best words to describe her. She was the best of her last name. Her greatest hobby was crocheting; everything from baby blankets to donate to orphanages to shawls for nursing homes. Receiving an afghan made by her was an expression of her love and warmth as we know buckets of love and prayers were poured into it as she created it with her two hands. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for most of her life and we are certain, all of heaven has welcomed her with loud cheers and lots of open arms. Sherri took her seat at that banqueting table among so many others that have preceded her and us on November 12, 2022. Save a seat for us and we’ll see you later, Sherri.

Sherri does want to “thank all of those at Camp Copass for what y’all have done for me”, and wishes that in lieu of flowers, to please send donations to Camp Copass, 8200 E. McKinney St, Denton, TX 76208.

Memorial service will be held Saturday November 19th, at 10:00am at Well of Life Church, Mineral Wells TX.
