Terry Ruth Lonsford

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Terry Ruth Lonsford on August 10, 2026, at the age of 73. Terry was born on August 5, 1953, in Artesia, NM, and she spent her life bringing joy to those around her.

Terry found joy in the little things that brought her family together. She was a talented hairdresser who dedicated her life to making others feel beautiful, but her true passion lay in her family. She loved quilting and spent countless hours crafting unique pieces for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often with each stitch filled with love. Cooking and baking were her other favorite pastimes, and her family will fondly remember her delicious meals and sweet treats. Her green thumb made gardening yet another avenue for her creativity, as she took pride in growing beautiful flowers.

Terry is survived by her devoted husband of 27 years, James Lonsford; her daughter, Teresa Sells; grandchildren: Haley Day, Hanna Sells, Hunter Sells; great grandchildren: Hayes Sells, Hattie Sells; her brother: Billy Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Smith and Helen Carter, and her brother Jack Smith.

Her love for family was evident, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

A celebration of life will take place at at later date. We invite friends and family to join us as we celebrate Terry's life and the wonderful memories we shared. Details for the service will be shared closer to the date, and we look forward to honoring the remarkable woman that Terry was.
