Thomas Raymond Roberts, born on November 19, 1947, in Swedesboro, New Jersey, the only child of Harry Thomas Roberts and Anna Mary Zane Roberts was suddenly called to serve at the Lord’s side on May 10, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. Thomas lived a life marked by kindness, warmth, and a gentle spirit that touched all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Tom Graduated from SMU in Dallas and served in the US Marine Reserves. He taught many years at Tarrant County College and substituted for a time with Birdville ISD. He worked at Coffman Motors for many years and worked at Walmart for the last 22 years. Tom has many friends and acquaintances that liked, loved, and looked up to him.
Tom was a diehard sports fan, Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, The Stars, and The Dallas Mavericks. He could talk sports for hours. Tom followed in his beloved momma’s footsteps and played on bowling leagues every Thursday night.
Tom was so very proud of his children, always talking about their achievements and funny personalities.
Tom leaves behind his wife and friend of 21 year, Susan Hays Roberts; his mother-in-law, Marina Sue Hays; his friend and mother of his 3 Children, Diane Coffman Prince; his daughter, Amber Shae Roberts, and husband Ronnie; son, Jon Thomas Roberts and wife, Elizabeth (Beth) Horn Roberts; son, Jacob Dean Roberts; son, Justin Shelby and wife Debbie Shelby; by his 2 Grandsons, Charles Justin Roberts and River Thomas James Roberts; his cousin, George Zane and wife Diane; 3 step sons, Kyle Hays, Scott Landreth, and Joseph Landreth; many step grandkids, Samantha Hays, Kaleigh Followell, Elizabeth Followell, Aubrey Garza, Brantley Landreth, Kyler Russell, Hayden Landreth; and many friends.
He was welcomed into Heaven by our Lord God the Father, and his earthly father, Harry Thomas Roberts, his mother, Anna Roberts; Uncle Kenneth and Aunt Doris; his bonus father, Charles Dean Coffman; his bonus mother, Wanda Mae White Coffman; 2 brothers-in-law, Martin Hays and James Hays.
A viewing to honor Thomas’s memory will be held on May 18, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home, located at 302 West Hubbard Street, Mineral Wells, Texas 76067. This will be followed immediately by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m., also at the funeral home.
In remembering Thomas Raymond Roberts, we celebrate a life defined by kindness, humility, and an ever-present smile. His legacy of warmth and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace.
