Vaughn Henry Dunaway, Jr.

Vaughn Henry Dunaway Jr. aged 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Weatherford, Texas on October 8, 2026.

Born on November 22, 1955 in Mineral Wells, Texas to Vaughn Henry Dunaway and Mary Jane Dunaway. Vaughn Jr. was a great lover of music, film, cars but most of all family. He could spend hours listening to records or watching movies. He always knew the history behind the artist or film. Vaughn, Jr. enjoyed going for a drive in his Lincoln, being in the yard with his dogs and spending time with his family. He was a lifelong member of Southside Church of Christ.

Survivors include his sister, Sarah Patterson and husband Bill Patterson; nieces, Rebecca Burks and husband Tyler Burks and Sarah Evans; nephew, Matthew Vaughn Patterson; grandnephews, Luca, Murphy Vaughn, and Kobe; and many cousins and friends.

Vaughn, Jr. was preceded in death by his father and mother, Vaughn Dunaway Sr. and Mary Jane Dunaway.

He will be forever missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will always be remembered for his kind and generous nature.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hope Harbor Children’s Home in Claremore, Oklahoma and Foster’s Home for Children in Stephenville, Texas.

Visitation will start at 1 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2026 at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Lipan.
