Vernell Davis King, sunset July 26, 2020 in Fort Worth, Texas. Sunrise was May 12, 1931 in Pelahatchie, Mississippi. Vernell was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; she will me be missed greatly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew King; daughter, Virginia Anne Henry; sisters, Esther Cotton and Inez McIntyre; mother, Estella Davis; father, Wesley Davis, Sr.; brothers, Willie B. Davis and Wesley Davis, Jr.
Survivors include her children, Diane King Grant, Andrew Vernell King, Freeman King, Mark King, Claudette King Frye; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Booker T. Davis.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, July 30 at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Chapel with burial following at Woodland Park Cemetery.
