Victoriano "Victor" Ramirez

Victoriano Ramirez, affectionately known by many names—Victor, Vico, Tamina, Silver Fox, Mexican James Dean, Dad, and Grandpa— passed away October 7, 2026 at home surrounded by family. He was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on June 26, 1950, when his mother, Rosa, welcomed him into her arms.

Victor spent most of his childhood growing up in Sonora, Texas, alongside his eleven siblings. From a very young age, Victor understood the meaning of family, responsibility, and hard work. At just 12 years old, he began working in the sheep-shearing industry to help his mother financially and to do his part in caring for his family. He soon joined the Job Corps in his early teens, which allowed him to strengthen his work ethic.

As Victor grew into adulthood, he found his calling in the oil field, beginning his career with Pool Oil Company and Laredo Oil. His work eventually brought him to Mineral Wells, where he worked alongside his brother-in-law at TransTexas. He later continued his oil-field career with Energy Service Company, where he eventually retired.

After retirement, he moved to Graham to spend 10 years with his daughter Ganna before returning to Mineral Wells to spend his final year with his son David. He spent some time traveling with family as well.

Victor was well known and highly respected throughout the oil-field industry. The companies and coworkers he worked alongside recognized him for a job well done, his reliability, and his dedication to his work. Over the years, he made many friendships through the oil field. Even after retirement, Victor continued to visit many of those friends, maintaining those connections all the way to the end.

He enjoyed the simple pleasure of sitting with a good friend, sharing conversation, and enjoying their company. Although he was quiet, those who knew him understood that he cared deeply and that his friendships meant a great deal to him.

Above all, family was important to Victor.

Victor had a special relationship with his faith. Victor started out as an alter server and he found peace in God and quietly served his parish in his adulthood, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, in whatever ways he could. When Father John Nagle transported kids he was there to help. He was also an usher. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the ACTS retreat group. His faith was an important part of his life and a source of comfort and peace.

Survivors include his children: David Paul Ramirez and Laura; Ganna Ramirez; Ernesto Ramirez and Angie; Matthew Ramirez and Victoria; and Machaela Ramirez. His grandchildren that he loved dearly: Tonya Evans, Stacy Evans, Tonilynn Evans and Felipe Ramírez, Salena Rose, Adrian Moreno and Logan, Darrius Ramirez and Kesia, Pilot Ramirez, Xander Ramirez, Viviana Ramírez, Ezra Ramirez and Lincoln Ramirez. His great-grandchildren include: Tierra Evans, Brenyon Evans, Prestyn Ramirez, Daven Green, Karmine Ramírez,, Silas Rose, Zahaba Ramirez, and Gemma Moreno.

Victor will be deeply missed by his siblings—Albert, Paul, Lupe, Gloria, Sally, Michael, Carmina, and Jessie. They will forever treasure his giving nature and the role he played in helping care for the younger members of the family. From the time he was just a boy working to help his mother, Victor carried with him a deep sense of responsibility and love for his family.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Rosa Noriega; his sisters, Maria Juana Ramirez, Josie Noriega, and Delma Noriega; and his great-granddaughter, Emilia Kay Ortiz-Ramirez.

You will be deeply loved, deeply missed, and forever remembered.
