Wyvan Dale Walker

Wyvan Dale Walker, beloved husband, father, and papaw passed away on December 27, 2023.  He was born in Dumas, Texas on December 10, 1949, but raised in Wetumka, Oklahoma.  Wyvan was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force and served as a Medic at Carswell Air Force Base where he met his wife, Denise.  After retiring from the Air Force, Wyvan served as a Veterans Representative for The Texas Workforce Commission and proudly cared for their small farm in Weatherford, Texas. 

Wyvan loved camping and hiking and sharing his love of the outdoors with his girls and grandchildren.  He especially liked taking them to the mountains of Colorado and introducing them to Texas State Parks. Wyvan enjoyed working with his Western Reenactment Group Regulators and Outlaws teaching gun safety and western history.

Wyvan is survived by his wife, Denise Joye Walker of Weatherford, Texas and his children: Daughter, Brandy Parks and husband Mitchell Parks of Crescent, Oklahoma and their children: Jasmine Parks, Cheyenne Denison and husband Grant, and Savannah Parks.  Daughter, Lori Rich and husband Oscar and their children: Brittany Eason and husband Nathan and Wyvan’s great-granddaughter Zoey, Katie Rich, and fiancé Kenny Henry and Wyvan’s great-grandson Jaiden, Timothy Newberry and wife Kylie, Stepheny Newberry, Lane Rich, Mathew Rich, and Grace Rich.  Daughter: Kristi Walker of Graham, Texas. Wyvan also had several nieces and nephews.

Wyvan was preceded in death by his parents Logan Benjamin Walker and Lennie Opal Walker of Wetumka, Oklahoma, and a brother Clyde Elmer Proctor.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Bethesda Methodist Church at 6657 FM 113N, Weatherford, Texas, 76088. Burial will follow at Bethesda Cemetery

Officiating will be brother-in-law Dennis Arnold with eulogy given by son-in-law Mitchell Parks. Pallbearers are son-in-law Oscar Rich, grandsons Timothy Newberry, Lane Rich, and Nathan Eason and nephews, Joshua Arnold, and Micha Arnold.
