Donald "Donnie" McWhorter

Donald “Donnie” Lee McWhorter received his wings on July 5th, 2020. He was born December 18th, 1984 in Pampa, Texas. He was raised and lived out his many years on earth in Mineral Wells, Texas.

Survivors include his wife Danielle McWhorter; children, Hailey McWhorter (14), Tyler McWhorter (13), and Peighton McWhorter (6); mother, Cindy Dodson; stepfather, Andrew (Chico) Jones; sister, Christie McWhorter and her children, Ally and Blake; brother, Joseph (JD) McWhorter; father and mother-in-law, Brian and Rena Pelis; sister-in-law, Crystal Childers and her spouse, Russell, and children Serenity, Matthew, Riley and Nick Pelis; son Ezra Pelis; life- long best friend/brother-in-law, Steven Wyman and wife Heather and children Emily & Jake Wyman; adopted brother Daniel McMinn, his wife Chasidy and children Kindle and Tatum.
Bill Ivie; aunt, Sherri Sanders and her children DJ and JJ; aunt, Evelyn Hornbeck; along with so many others that he considered family that took him in and accepted him as their own while he was a child in need.

Donnie always felt very blessed to have had so many people be a part of his life and help guide him and give advice. These people helped guide him and overall shape him into a good man. Donnie looked up to many who knew he struggled a lot with not knowing who his father was. He was grateful for every male figure who helped him along his journey in life. For that Donnie became a great father to our children.

He is preceded in death by great grandparents, Joe and Imogene Hornbeck; grandparents, Duane McWhorter, Wilbert “Buddy” and Linda Bean; uncles, Duane Sanders and David Forbes; and adopted Father Ronnie McMinn.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, July 13, 2020 at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Woodland Park Cemetery.
