Jacqueline Meredith Miller

September 10, 1930 — July 18, 2020

Jacqueline "Jackie" Miller, 89, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend departed for Heaven on Saturday, July 18, 2020. Jackie was born in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Helen Hungerford on September 10, 1930. She was only a few days old when she was adopted by Mary and Milo Hungerford. Jackie married the love of her life, Sterling "Clyde" Miller, on February 15, 1946 and raised six children. Before Clyde retired from the Air Force the family moved between bases in Kansas, New Mexico, California, Montana and Texas. Jackie was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association. After Clyde's retirement, they moved several times before returning to their hometown, Hutchinson, Kansas. After Clyde's death in 1998, Jackie continued to move several times, making lasting friendships. Jackie enjoyed countless hours of Bible Studies or playing cards with her wonderful girlfriends. She leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of family, faith, friendship, goodwill and love.

Jackie had Mary and Milo’s caring nature. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by the love of family and friends. She loved to read.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Clinton Hungerford; sisters, Ruth Berridge, Marge Maygar, and Ardith Ellis: son, Danny Miller; and grandson, Jason Gobble.

She is survived by her children, Claudia (Ralph) Hall, Patricia (Bill) Harvell, Barbara (Greg) Lemen, Cindy (Denny) Rizzo and Don Miller. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-greatgrandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews. “I love ALL my children, grand-children, greatgrandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.”

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, “mom” requested donations be made to Hospice/Home care.

I’M FREE

Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call:
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I found my place at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joys.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too shall miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow:
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savoured much;
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my life seemed all too brief:
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me;
God wanted me now, He set me free.
